Unit 1 Summary – Our suggestions to youth workers and NGOs

There are various options how youth workers and NGOs can realize activities in the field of mentoring and act as a bridge to put together mentors and mentees:
  • Mentoring from some successful people;
  • Peer-to-Peer mentoring – university students mentor junior students or junior students mentor high school students;
  • Mentoring from people of similar profile or interests – e.g., in the field of technology or geoscience;
  • Mentoring from „ordinary“ people, who would like to support young people with fewer opportunities – e.g., from orphanages or Roma communities with leisure time activities; or migrants through learning support;
  • Mentoring with the certain tangible result – mentoring that will achieve the realization of some project – e.g., event or social business. In this case, it is suitable to have also budget available to support the implementation of those ideas.
