Description
MyMachine is an intergenerational program involving students from all educational levels to create products invented by kids. The program lasts for one school year. In the first step, primary school children invent the dream machine – an “IDEA”. In the second step, university students such as engineers, product designers and digital designers transform the IDEA into a “CONCEPT”. In the last step, technical secondary students make a working prototype. Students learn how to bring the idea to life and solve personal, local or global challenges and enhance “I can do it” perspective. Today’s world increasingly requires knowledge in the field of “STE(A)M” (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Therefore, the program strengthens students’ insight into what it means in real life, their technical, technological talents, creative ideas and solutions. MyMachine also targets and impacts the educators and shows them how project-based learning can contribute to a better education system. MyMachine started in 2014, and already, more than 11 thousand of students have been involved in the program.
